Use Co-Mate to maintain a cleaner heating system using wood or wood-based fuel. This reduces the risk of creosote-caused chimney fires, improves efficiency and reduces emissions. We recommend emptying the ash collection very often during the first few weeks. Check your heater regularly for ash build-up.

Co-Mate is an important part of any chimney maintenance program to ensure the continued safe use of the system. Annual inspections are always recommended. For best results, Co-Mate should always be added directly into the firebox over a high fire. To maximize the distribution of Co-Mate throughout your chimney, alternate your application between high and low fires, if possible. Dosage rates may vary depending on each system and/or the quantity and quality of fuel used.

Recommended dosages are as follows. We encourage you to experiment. If you change your dosage regimen, wait a few weeks before changing it again, so that you have enough time to monitor the changes in your chimney. For optimal effectiveness, apply Co-Mate as regularly as possible.
